Posted November 2, 2006, Update on the Team, FF Tom Stachlewitz

Just a few notes to update everyone.
The squad officers met and are finalizing the equipment purchase list.
This list should be completed and equipment ordered by second week of November. A draft Mission Statement  and team objectives has been written. The fire chief and executive board are still working on team policies. Chief Hoeft is hoping to receive some money to pay for training. (as everyone known the grant moneys received so far can only be used to purchase equipment).  Ropes and confined space classes are still being set up through WAMAA.
Your continuing patience and dedication are appreciated.
We will continue to keep everyone informed of progress as it happens.

Posted July 11, 2006, Team Updates and Training Notices

Be advised that we had an officers meeting and determined a course of action for training for the remainder of 2006, which is posted on the webpage as revision #3. The goal is for all personnel to become awareness level trained by the end of 2006. The remaining 2006 Saturday programs will all be awareness level. In order for this to occur effectively we will break the team down by squad and rotate them through the disciplines. We would encourage all team members to attend all trainings regardless of your current certification level.

The July 22 training is cancelled. This cancellation is necessary for the instructors to have time to adequately prepare the awareness programs for the remaining Saturday programs. Thursday programs for the remainder of the year will concentrate on proper applications and use of the specialized equipment utilized for USAR activities.

It is also very likely that we will host a MUSAR Rope Rescue Operations, MUSAR Confined Space Rescue and Structural Collapse Operations program yet this year. These will be run through WAMAA and will be coordinated by our personnel. We would highly encourage anyone on the team that is not currently certified to this level to attend these programs.

In addition we have broken down the team into squads and appointed officers to respective squads. This is listed in the team member only section, please note which squad you are assigned to.
